Koumbia:The Zemstaba Cooperative of Koumbia, known for its work with non-timber forest products like shea butter and soap, has donated hygiene products to the Koumbia Medical Center and its patients.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation, which included boxes of bar soap and liquid soap, was delivered by the cooperative's head, Djeneba Barry. The cooperative aims to support community well-being and acknowledge the dedication of healthcare workers.
Barry highlighted that the cooperative's members committed to this donation as part of their capacity-building benefits, using their own resources to assist the medical center. Following the donation, Zemstaba members distributed soaps to each patient.
Dr. Abdoulaye Sawadogo, speaking for the healthcare staff and patients, thanked Zemstaba for their generosity. He noted that the hygiene products would enhance cleanliness and protect against infections, especially for vulnerable groups like pregnant women and newborns.
Youssouf Zor©, the head of the Koumbia Medical Center, also commended the cooperative's contribution, emphasizing its role in boosting sanitation and disease prevention in the healthcare setting.
