Yaadga Mobilizes for Monthly Flag-Raising Ceremony at Ouahigouya High Court

Yaadga: The governor of the Yaadga region, Thomas Yampa, presided on Monday over the solemn monthly ceremony of raising the colors of the month in the presence of constituted bodies and mobilized citizens.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this solemn ceremony in April 2026 took place at the Ouahigouya High Court. Around the flag, regional public administration officials, defense and security forces, High Court staff, members of civil society, and members of the media witnessed the raising of the flag, singing the national anthem in unison, sung in the Moore language by inmates of the Ouahigouya prison.

In his message, Richard Lankoande, President of the Ouahigouya High Court, thanked the regional authorities for honoring the institution. "May this raising of the colors strengthen our cohesion, rekindle our national pride, and may this flag flying before us continue to be a vibrant reminder of our responsibilities and a symbol of our unwavering commitment to the nation," he affirmed.

In his message, the regional authority reiterated his encouragement to the constituted bodies for their continued interest in the monthly flag-raising ceremony in the region. After thanking citizen Boureima Ouedraogo, who prepared the area for the flag and donated a flagpole to the High Court, the governor called upon the constituted bodies and the public to become more involved and actively participate in the various activities planned for the 3rd edition of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation (JEPPC).
