Yaadga: The Governor of the Yaadga region, Thomas Yampa, presided over the Regional Consultation Day (JRC) on Thursday, August 6, in the presence of several development actors in the region, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this meeting was held under the theme "Coordination and synergy of action of non-governmental organizations, development associations and foundations in the Yaadga region: current situation and perspectives." Governor Thomas Yampa stated that the initiative's main objective is to foster exchange and dialogue with development partners working closely with the decentralized services of the State to achieve harmonious and inclusive development in Burkina Faso.
The regional authority highlighted that Yaadga hosts 361 associations, development NGOs, and foundations actively participating in significant areas of action with the State and its partners. The consultation day is aimed at creating synergy around major reforms, encouraging each actor to align with the dynamic of the popular progressive revolution.
Governor Yampa urged stakeholders to be proactive, aligned, and consultative to transform the current context into one leading towards endogenous, inclusive development based on the country's realities and fundamental values.
The agenda for the day included three key communications. Polycarpe Nar©, the Regional Director of Economy and Planning of Yaadga, mentioned that these communications focused on the resilience and contribution of NGOs, associations, and foundations in tackling regional challenges, the major innovations of Law No. 011-2025/ALT of July 17, 2025, concerning freedom of association, and existing coordination mechanisms in the region.
Adama Ou©draogo, representing associations, foundations, and NGOs, expressed that the day was highly anticipated, offering a platform to exchange ideas and make recommendations to enhance the actions of associations, foundations, and NGOs. He highlighted the importance of direct dialogue with authorities to express concerns and collaboratively find appropriate solutions.
Ou©draogo also invited associations and NGOs to refer to the "2026-2030 Recovery Plan," as requested by the Governor, which serves as the government's reference point for development. Established by government decree on May 27, 2024, the JRC provides a consultation framework among the State, local authorities, and civil society actors, aiming to unite actions in favor of local development.
