Passore: The province of Passore officially launched the 'Revolutionary Youth on the March' initiative in Yako on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The ceremony was presided over by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Boukary Zomodo, representing the High Commissioner of the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this activity, led by the provincial directorate of Youth and Employment, in collaboration with the provincial directorate of Sports and Recreation, saw strong participation from administrative, religious, military, and paramilitary authorities, civil society organizations, as well as many young people.
The PDS of Yako, Boukary Zomodo, quoting the Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, called on the youth to play a decisive role in the ongoing governance changes. "Young comrades, by getting involved massively, you are taking full responsibility for helping to build a sovereign Burkina Faso," he stressed in his message, calling for constant patriotic commitment.
The head of government emphasized that the advent of total national sovereignty requires the mobilization and awareness-raising of the population, particularly the youth. Following this message, the participants marched approximately 3 km through the town of Yako, chanting slogans such as "the revolution is underway" and "long live the RPP!" This brisk walk followed a 30-minute aerobics session at the Yako youth center.
The Prime Minister also praised the mobilization and urged young people to participate fully in upcoming activities, with a view to contributing to the reconquest of territorial integrity. The provincial director of Youth and Employment for Passore, Augustin Sama, urged young people to remain united and committed. Mr. Sama also emphasized that youth are the true driving force of development and a bulwark for the nation.
This activity is part of the celebration of the first anniversary of the proclamation of the progressive and popular revolution underway in Burkina Faso.
