Yatenga: At the initiative of the management of the "Bangrenoma" Private High School, students were introduced on Thursday in Sgunga to the making of "Koko-donda" loincloths, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, for two weeks the learners combined theory and practice to better understand the process of making the Koko-donda loincloth. The training, which alternated between theoretical and practical sessions, was led by La Zall, who is also a supervisor at the "Bangrenoma" High School. Participants learned how to make Koko-donda loincloths, respecting the different stages of the process, including preparing the lye solution, mixing it with dyes, and respecting the resting and drying times.
Thanks to the support of the provincial directorate of secondary education, vocational and technical training (DPESFPT) of Yatenga, which provided the necessary equipment, the activity took place in good conditions for two weeks, allowing students to put their knowledge into practice and develop their skills. For the principal of the Issoufou Oudraogo high school, this initiative aims to promote practical learning, empowerment, and an entrepreneurial spirit among students. "Our goal is also to make the students' school uniforms starting in the 2026-2027 school year," he stated.
For the students, the advantages of this training are significant. "It will allow us in the future to be financially independent, and also reduce our parents' expenses by saving on the cost of our school uniforms," said student Ladifatou Belm. On behalf of all the beneficiaries, Amd Rouamba expressed his satisfaction and thanked the provincial head of secondary education, then conveyed his gratitude to the school administration for the opportunity offered to the students. The results of their work were presented to the school's founder, who congratulated the students and their instructor.
