Boulgou: The Zabr© town hall carried out, on Monday, February 23, 2026, a distribution of food to vulnerable people and internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the commune, on the occasion of the Muslim month of fasting and the Christian Lent, thanks to the support of the Youga gold mine operated by Soleil Ressources International.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the mining company donated 40 tons of rice and 20 cartons of sugar to the municipality. The handover ceremony took place at the town hall, in the presence of members of the special delegation, the representative of the canton chief, and several community leaders.
The prefect, Alain Boubi© Bassano, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Zabr©, praised this gesture of solidarity towards vulnerable populations. On behalf of the special delegation, he expressed his gratitude to the managing director and all the company's staff for this social initiative. "God surely hears our prayers. Take this opportunity to pray again and again for the return of peace," he urged the beneficiaries.
The PDS also expressed its hope that the mine's activities would flourish further so that it could strengthen its support for local communities. It also invited the people to pray for the highest authorities in the country, that they may live up to the missions entrusted to them, convinced that "God hears our prayers."
Representing the Youga gold mine, Antoine Attiou, speaking on behalf of CEO El Hadj Inoussa Kanazoe, indicated that this donation falls within the framework of the company's social responsibility. According to him, the company wanted, once again, to support the people of Zabr© with food supplies during the Ramadan fasting period. "As part of its social responsibility, the mine wanted to support Muslims and Christians during these times of faith," he said, before also calling for prayers for the return of peace to Burkina Faso and for the development of mining activities.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Adama Sawadogo expressed his gratitude to the donors and entrusted them to God, wishing that He would grant them health and prosperity in their activities.
