Zabré:The staff and parents of students at the Zabré departmental high school convened for an extraordinary general meeting to evaluate efforts geared towards the rehabilitation and equipping of the school.
According to Burkina Information Agency, during the meeting, the school officials presented equipment donated by the Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Yacouba Zabré Gouba, a native of Zabré. The donation comprised 181 table-benches, 5 master desks, and 30 master chairs.
Adama Dindané, the headmaster of the high school, expressed gratitude to the minister, noting that the school furniture needs were now completely addressed. This contribution is in response to a solidarity call made by the institution's head on September 28, 2026, inviting the sons and daughters of Zabré to contribute towards the school's rehabilitation and equipping.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed other contributions, including 313,000 FCFA from the first graduating class and 50,000 FCFA from Yabré Harouna, a Zabré native residing in Gabon. The headmaster thanked all donors and mentioned that future financial contributions would be directed towards other institutional priorities.
These priorities include repairing the library roof damaged by bad weather on May 15, 2025, addressing leaks in the administrative building, fixing cracks in the staff room, renovating the original school building, and constructing a fence around the school.
During discussions, Yinyassa Luc Gouba commended the support efforts and encouraged the Zabré community to form an association to better mobilize the diaspora in support of the high school. He also suggested that the administration consult municipal authorities to define the school's boundaries before constructing the fence.
Boureima Gouba, the chairman of the school council, expressed appreciation for the parents' mobilization, urging them to become more involved in the school's activities. The general assembly served as a midpoint assessment of the mobilization efforts and helped identify priorities for ongoing actions.
