Ziniares: The ReZAS Outlines Its Action Plan for 2026

Ziniare: The Zoodo Action and Solidarity Network (ReZAS) held its 9th Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Ziniare, the capital of the Oubri region. This statutory meeting allowed network members to review the past year's activities and plan for 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the General Assembly was chaired by Clarisse Bagagnan, a technical advisor representing the governor of the region. The event saw strong mobilization of member associations and participation from national and international partners. Abdoulaye Ouedraogo, chairman of the SPONG Board of Directors, commended ReZAS for its work and dynamism on the ground.

Ouedraogo expressed his support for ReZAS, highlighting the remarkable participation from network members. He noted the organization's ability to anticipate changes in the national context, particularly through member training on new state directives and the adoption of a new development framework. ReZAS has equipped itself with structuring tools, including a strategic plan, an action plan, and procedure manuals, positioning it as a credible entity.

Wendpagnangde Simpore, chairman of the board of directors of ReZAS, stated that the 9th General Assembly was a time for assessment and planning. The 2026 action plan was presented, focusing on three major axes: developing local and global citizenship, promoting the social and solidarity economy, and enhancing human capital.

Over the past year, ReZAS has implemented projects like a solidarity development program aimed at strengthening women's capacities to improve their production systems and income sources. Civic education initiatives, such as the Festival of Solidarity and community-based activities, have also been conducted. The network plans to recentralize its actions through thematic hubs, becoming its operational arm.

ReZAS also aims to strengthen South-South cooperation, promoting partnerships between African organizations beyond traditional North-South models. This approach draws inspiration from the International Meeting on Popular and Solidarity Education held in Grand-Bassam in June 2024. Representatives from the URUNANI network attended the meeting, with members from Ivory Coast and Togo participating.

Kouame Grace Naomi, a member of the delegation, emphasized the importance of African youth uniting to build the future, expressing a sense of solidarity and support in Burkina Faso. Established in 2017, ReZAS now consists of around sixty associations and is a key player in promoting citizenship, solidarity, and community development in Burkina Faso.
