Zonse:The special municipal delegation of Zonse convened its third ordinary session of the year 2026 to discuss the budget guidelines for 2027 and strategies for enhancing resource mobilization.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was chaired by Wendinmi Frederic Ouedraogo, President of the special delegation, who led the unanimous adoption of a resolution to amend the 2026 municipal budget without altering its total amount. Members also approved joining the Local Economic Development and Territorial Coherence Strategy (SDELCoT).
During discussions on budget orientation, participants highlighted challenges in revenue mobilization, particularly tax evasion and limited engagement from local stakeholders. By August 31, 2026, only 53.85 million CFA francs had been collected from an anticipated 111.17 million CFA francs in operating revenues.
For the 2027 fiscal management, the delegation plans to focus on mandatory expenditures, streamline optional spending, and enhance budgetary and cash flow oversight to avoid indebtedness. Initiatives include awareness campaigns on tax compliance, engagements with community leaders, and organizing an accountability day to boost local management involvement.
Participants also emphasized the importance of sustaining Zonse's status as a fully functioning municipality through improved tax revenue mobilization.
