Zoundwéogo: An association trains 22 women responsible for women’s groups in associative leadership

Teel-Taaba , an association fighting poverty among women , based in Manga, began , on Tuesday, a four-day training session for 22 women responsible for women’s groups from the communes of Guiba and Manga ( Zoundwéogo province ) in leadership and association management with a view to strengthening their skills in the field .

This workshop, which will be held from Tuesday 24 to Friday 27 September 2024, aims to have a positive impact on the effectiveness of the participants’ associative structures.

During the four days, the main aim will be ” to encourage women to become more involved and to work hard to ensure the dynamism of their associations “, explained trainer Marc Yaméogo .

Several modules, particularly on leadership, communication and advocacy, will be rolled out to enable participants to improve not only relationships and communication within the group but also to conduct good advocacy with partners to support their structures, said Mr. Yaméogo .

According to the president of the Teel-Taaba associ
ation , Isabelle Baïlé , the observation of the current situation of local women’s groups shows several shortcomings. For example, their leaders lack , she said , the mastery of leadership and management instruments.

” By training them , it will strengthen their knowledge and their leadership skills so that they know , for example, how to lead the group and how to motivate it to be able to move forward and obtain good results , ” said Isabelle Baïlé .

The first vice- president of the Special Delegation of the commune of Manga, Adèle Kafando, is also convinced that the session will , at the same time, allow ” to strengthen the skills of the participants in associative leadership and help them to put them into practice in their respective structures ” . Also, she welcomed the holding of the activity by inviting the beneficiaries to appropriate the content of the different modules to explore.

The training in associative leadership takes place within the framework of the implementation of the project entitled
‘ project to reduce gender inequalities through training in the province of Zoundwéogo ‘, an initiative supported technically and financially by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

The Teel-Taaba association which implements it was created in 2009 and launched in 2010. Its main mission is to contribute to eliminating poverty among women.
