Zoundw©ogo: The Day of Customs and Traditions at the Royal Court of Nober© saw a significant gathering of traditional chiefs and a large population, all united in their dedication to ancestral culture and traditions. The event was marked by sacrifices and prayers aimed at fostering peace in Burkina Faso, enhancing social cohesion, and promoting understanding among communities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony included appeals to ancestral spirits for the country's economic prosperity and the success of the 2026 agricultural campaign. His Majesty Naaba Koanga, addressing the gathering, expressed his desire for Nober© to remain a sanctuary of peace and for all of Burkina Faso to experience unity, tranquility, and mutual understanding. He also wished for a favorable winter season for local populations and the entire nation.
Amidst the ongoing security challenges, the canton chief urged the Nober© population to remain vigilant and to support the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in their fight against terrorism. Following the prayers and sacrifices, traditional dances were performed. These expertly executed dances by troupes from various villages emphasized the community's commitment to Burkinab¨ culture and traditions.
