Zoundweogo: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Gogo, Issa Tiendr©b©ogo, launched the activities of the 'VDP scolaire' Project on Wednesday through its sub-project called 'Road without doubt', inviting students to become key players in promoting road safety. The ceremony, held at the Gogo A public primary school, mobilized teachers, students from Gogo A, B, and C schools, as well as the local Defense and Security Forces (FDS).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the headmaster of Gogo A school, Sylvain Niki¨ma, expressed his gratitude to the organizers for choosing his school and those of Gogo B and C to host the launch. He noted that this initiative is very timely, given the schools' proximity to the paved national highway. For his part, the representative of the CCEB, Salifou Compaor©, welcomed the relevance of the project and wished for its extension to all schools of the CEB of Gogo to impact a greater number of learners.

Speaking on behalf of the regional coordination of the VDP school project, Ass¨ta Bouda recalled the objective of the sub-project "Road without a doubt", which aims to save lives by promoting road safety in schools. "Too many young people are victims of preventable accidents. It is time to act, to educate and to empower," she said, urging students to become role models of good road behavior.

In his speech, the PDS stressed the need to instill road safety rules from a young age. "Road safety begins with education, and this education must start very early, at school," he stated. Addressing the students, he invited them to be ambassadors of road safety within their families and communities.

The ceremony concluded with a practical exercise on National Route 29, led by officers from the Gogo district police. The students were introduced to proper road safety practices, including wearing helmets, crossing the road safely, and obeying traffic lights.
