Abuja: The 'Union for All' group planted 100 seedlings in schools in sector 22 of Bobo-Dioulasso on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in support of the Presidential Initiative for National Tree Day.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of the group's ongoing work since 2024 to improve sanitation and beautification in Sector 22. The group's representative, Ernest Kini, explained that the choice of schools aims to provide a more pleasant environment for students and teachers. "Today, we chose schools to allow the community to benefit from the shade and numerous advantages of trees," he said.

Adama Soma, representing the president of the Special Delegation of District 7, praised this citizen initiative while emphasizing the importance of maintaining the seedlings. "Planting is an important step. We now encourage the monitoring of these seedlings so that they can thrive for the benefit of all, especially the students of the beneficiary schools," he stated.

The head of the land in sector 22, Martin Sanou, highlighted the many benefits of trees, particularly their fruit and shade. "We hope that every Burkinab¨ will think about planting and protecting trees. We encourage and congratulate Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traorfor this excellent initiative," he added.

Officials from the "Union for All" group announced that this reforestation operation will continue and be extended to other gathering points in sector 22.
