125 Young Agricultural Entrepreneurs and VDPs Committed to Food Sovereignty in SanguiE

Sanguie: The Head of Mission of Nando, Pema Florent Neya, presided on Saturday, April 18 in REo, over an exchange and awareness session for the benefit of 125 young agricultural entrepreneurs and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) from five communes of the SanguiE province, in the presence of the PDS of REo, Cindy Issaka ZagrE.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the town hall in REo served as the venue for this consultation meeting, which brought together stakeholders from the municipalities of Dassa, KordiE, Didyr, Godyr, and REo. The initiative, led by the Project Manager (CM) of Nando, along with the two focal points, Babou Birba and Basile Bationo, aims to strengthen collaboration among rural stakeholders to achieve food self-sufficiency.

During the workshop, participants heard presentations focusing on current challenges in agricultural production, shared experiences, and discussed best farming practices. This forum also helped to further engage young people in agricultural entrepreneurship, a cornerstone of the endogenous development advocated by the authorities of the RPP (Regional People's Party).

For the Project Manager, the objective remains constant: "to produce enough to feed local populations, strengthen regional food security, and contribute to the food sovereignty of the Sahel Alliance (SAA) area." He praised the "strong mobilization" and "patriotism" of the 125 young people present, seeing it as a sign of determination to transform the agricultural and livestock sector in the SanguiE province.

As a reminder, this field mission is part of the dynamic of consolidating the efforts of local producers to make food security a concrete reality in Burkina Faso.
