Bobo-dioulasso: Burkinabe runner Awa Bamogo clinched the red "luilli pendE" jersey as the leader of the Yennenga 2026 International Women's Tour in Bobo-Dioulasso. Despite the final stage victory by Nigerian rider Godwin Grace on the Boulevard de la rEvolution, Bamogo emerged as the overall winner of the competition.According to Burkina Information Agency, the race was largely decided after the first three stages where Bamogo secured multiple victories, maintaining her lead with the yellow jersey. During the final sprint in Bobo, she placed second, extending her lead in the general classification over runner-up Lamoussa Zoungrana. Bamogo finished 22 seconds ahead of Zoungrana, and 3 minutes 36 seconds ahead of Godwin Grace, who placed third.Alongside the red leader's jersey, Bamogo also won the green points jersey, while Lamoussa Zoungrana took the pink intermediate sprints jersey. Godwin Grace was awarded the white jersey for best young rider. In the team standings, Burkina Faso's A team led the chart, f ollowed by teams from Nigeria and Guimbi Ouattara. Cameroon and Burundi took the fourth and fifth spots respectively, while Mali was not ranked due to a late arrival.The Yennenga Women's Tour concluded with anticipation for the Yennenga Grand Prix in Ouagadougou on Boulevard Thomas Sankara. Although not part of the tour, this event will cover a distance of 61.2 km and precedes the return of the various delegations to their respective countries.The tour, held from April 14 to 19, featured 23 riders from Burundi, Cameroon, Mali, Nigeria, and host nation Burkina Faso.
