Nanoro: The Nanoro Departmental Polyvalent High School hosted the 14th edition of the school competition organized by the Association Deutsch fr Alle (ADFA) on Saturday morning. Twenty candidates, from grades 4 to 1A, competed fiercely to secure a place among the regional elite.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the competition was initiated by ADFA in collaboration with the German Embassy in Burkina Faso to spark an interest in the German language among learners while creating healthy competition. The organizers aim to open doors and offer international opportunities to the most deserving students.
At the end of these tests, the 15 best students at each level, by region, will be rewarded during the "Deutschtag" day. This award ceremony is scheduled for May 16, 2026, at the German Embassy in Ouagadougou.
The departmental coordinator of the competition, Mindi Tossa, a German teacher at the Soum high school, expressed pride in hosting the event, highlighting the opportunity it provides for students to measure themselves against the best. He noted the importance of seizing this opportunity to express and improve knowledge. However, he expressed a wish for future editions to be announced earlier to enhance candidate preparation.
ADFA's focal point, Sadou Ouedraogo, a teacher at the Nanoro Departmental High School, commended the sustainability of the initiative. He congratulated all those involved and strongly encouraged the competitors for their continued success.
The students' enthusiasm was evident. Denise Mano, a 9th-grade candidate, shared her impressions as she left the exam rooms. She found the topic manageable and hopes to be included in the final rankings. She also expressed gratitude to ADFA, wishing the association continued success for the benefit of future German students in the community.
