Abuja: 22,187 high school graduates are participating in the 2026 session of the mandatory patriotic immersion program in the region. The regional launch ceremony, presided over by the Governor of Kadiogo, Abdoulaye Bassinga, was held this Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Christian Alliance High School in the 9th arrondissement of Ouagadougou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the 22,187 high school graduates who are starting this second edition of the IPO in the Kadiogo region are spread across 44 sites in the five districts of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training. The governor of Kadiogo emphasized that the IPO reflects the desire of the country's top officials to organize a multidimensional training framework that instills, among young high school graduates, a sense of duty, discipline, solidarity, living together, respect for the symbols of the State, and love of country.
Governor Bassinga underscored that the IPO is a decisive response to the many issues observed in educational institutions, which have become environments where indiscipline, drug use, and distrust of state symbols are developing. He stated, "Patriotic Immersion is also a school in which young people called to immersion will drink from the source of the progressive and popular revolution."
Comrade Bassinga reassured the Kadiogo region's commitment to implementing the mandatory patriotic immersion, following the instructions of the highest authorities in the country, in a methodical and rigorous manner. This will be achieved through a roadmap developed under the guidance of the orientation cell and the regional cell of patriotic immersion.
The governor also called for the mobilization of local resources, inviting residents of the region to contribute to the success of the immersion program by contacting the presidents of the special delegations in their districts, who would then forward the contributions to the regional unit.
The official launch of IPO 2026 in the Kadiogo region was marked by the speech of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©. Following the launch ceremony, the authorities present participated in a symbolic planting of trees on the grounds of the Christian Alliance high school in Ouagadougou.
