Abuja: The governor of the Koulsregion, Colonel-Major Zo©wendemalgo Blaise Ou©draogo, urged companies awarded infrastructure contracts financed by the Community Project for Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS) to respect contractual deadlines and carry out construction work in accordance with best practices.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor visited two ongoing construction sites in Boulsa with members of the regional staff to assess the progress of socio-administrative infrastructure projects financed by the PCRSS, also known as the Regional Social Security and Solidarity Program. The focus of the visit was on the construction of a 7,000-ton capacity warehouse in Sector 3 and the Provincial Directorate for Market Control and Financial Commitments (DPCMEF) in Sector 1. The combined cost of these projects exceeds 2 billion CFA francs.

Discussions at the warehouse site centered on the site's topography, while at the future DPCMEF building, the governor emphasized the need for foundations to accommodate future vertical expansion. Colonel-Major Ou©draogo also advocated for PCRSS support in constructing new school infrastructure to meet the needs of an increasing number of sixth-grade students this year.

Issaka Sangla, president of the special delegation of the Boulsa municipality, stated that the municipality would receive over 2 billion CFA francs in PCRSS funding for 2026 to undertake several socio-economic infrastructure projects, including the two sites visited. He also expressed hopes for funding to construct drainage ditches in Boulsa. The PCRSS is set to conclude on December 31, 2026.

At the end of the visit, the governor expressed satisfaction with the progress and encouraged contractors to maintain efforts while adhering strictly to deadlines and quality standards to make the infrastructure available to the public promptly.
