Tuy: The opening match of the 3rd edition of the Hound© Social Cohesion Cup witnessed Sector 2 claim a decisive victory over Bouahoun, finishing with a scoreline of four goals to zero. The match was played in front of a large audience of sports enthusiasts, setting a spirited tone for the tournament.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Hound© Gold Operation mine initiated the competition, while the Tuy Provincial Directorate of Sports and Recreation handles its technical implementation. The cup is designed to foster social cohesion, community spirit, and peace within the Hound© municipality. This year's tournament features 18 teams, drawn from the city's five sectors and 13 affiliated villages, and is scheduled to run from February 13 to April 29, 2026.

The official opening ceremony was led by Dieudonn© Zeda, Secretary General of Tuy Province, representing the High Commissioner. In his speech, he commended the initiative by HGO, highlighting its importance as a platform for civic education and unity among the communities. He called on players to exhibit fair play and encouraged supporters to maintain a spirit of tolerance. Zeda expressed optimism that this edition would further solidify friendships across the Hound© commune.

Nass© Ou©draogo, HGO's Director of Social Performance, representing the mine's Managing Director, also addressed the event. He emphasized the importance of fair play among all participants and reiterated HGO's commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance social peace, which is essential for the mine's operations in a peaceful environment.
