Kombissiri: People are mobilizing to give their city a proud appearance during the 6th edition of the municipal sanitation week, held from May 7 to 10, 2025, in Kombissiri, the population mobilized to get rid of solid waste and give their city a proud appearance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the municipality of Kombissiri organized the sixth edition of the Communal Sanitation Week (SCA) from May 7 to 10, 2025. The objective, according to the head of the water and sanitation department of the Kombissiri town hall, Herve Compaore, is to strengthen consultation between authorities and citizens for participatory and community management of the city's solid waste.

For this edition, the people of Kombissiri, through solid waste collection associations, members of the environmental monitoring unit, and provincial and municipal citizen monitoring, mobilized strongly to make their living environment pleasant. These people carried out the cleaning of gutters along National Road No. 5, which crosses the city, and the cleaning and disposal of waste in the city's streets and public places.

In addition to these sanitation activities, the organization of the SCA was also marked by awareness sessions for the population on the adoption of good hygiene and sanitation practices and the holding of a consultation framework between the authorities, technical services, and the population for better local governance of solid waste management.

The communal sanitation week (SCA) benefited from the support of the "project to improve the governance of solid sanitation in 19 medium-sized towns in Burkina Faso" (PAGDS 19). It was the second vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Kombissiri, Seni Compaore, who presided over the launch of the 6th SCA and supervised the work during this week.
