Alwata Diawara B School Clinches Trophy in Provincial Final of OSCLEP

Ouagadougou: Alwata Diawara B school won, on Saturday, May 17, the trophy of the provincial final of the Organization of Sport, Culture and Leisure in Primary Schools (OSCLEP). The Sourou Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) has resumed the provincial competitions of the Organization of Sport, Culture and Leisure in Primary Schools (OSCLEP) after an eleven-year hiatus.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the theme of this edition is "Sport, culture and leisure, a crucible of resilience and social cohesion in schools." For the 2025 edition, it was the Alwata Diawara B school of the basic education district (CEB) of Tougan I which won it, this Saturday, May 17, 2025, against the Alwata Diawara C school of the CEB of Tougan II on penalties by 4 to 2.

The provincial director of the DPEPPNF of Sourou, Aldjouma Soro, expressed his satisfaction with the holding of the edition and thanked all the partners for their support. The sponsor's representative, Dieudonne Yaro, also Provincial Director of Sports and Leisure of Sourou, indicated that Commander Karim Souabo, Director General of the National Fund for the Promotion of Sports and Leisure, is ready to support initiatives aimed at child development.

"As a son of the province and convinced of the benefits of sport, culture, and leisure on children's education, I have always supported such activities. For me, this is my way of contributing to the construction of the edifice," he said. For the High Commissioner, Desire Badolo, the choice of theme is challenging because it commits all stakeholders to developing resilience initiatives.

"Despite adversity, we must hold high the torch of education in our province," he said. He also urged teachers to further popularize sports, cultural and leisure activities in schools. This edition is chaired by the High Commissioner of the Sourou province, Desire Badolo, and sponsored by Commander Karim Souabo, Director General of the National Fund for the Promotion of Sport and Leisure.
