Gnagna: Muslim worshippers in Gnagna province celebrated Eid al-Adha prayer, commonly known as Tabaski, this Friday in a climate of peace and devotion, despite the security and socio-economic challenges facing the country.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the imam, in his sermon, urged the faithful to cultivate solidarity, patience, and peace, while imploring the Almighty for the return of security and peace to Burkina Faso. He expressed concern for the internally displaced persons, praying for their swift return to their respective localities and wishing all producers a prosperous winter season.

The imam, Dinyeri, made a heartfelt appeal to everyone: "Despite everything, let us cultivate peace and social cohesion." The Tabaski festival, or Eid al-Adha, is a significant Islamic event that commemorates the faith and obedience of the Prophet Abraham, celebrated through prayer, ritual sacrifice, and charity toward the needy.

The religious observance included the traditional immolation of a sacrificial sheep, symbolizing submission to God, in adherence to Islamic teachings. In Bogand©, the primary prayer service was conducted on the former grounds of the Provincial High School, attended by numerous religious and administrative figures. Imam El Hadj Amadou Dinyeri led the congregation, comprising several hundred worshippers from different parts of the city.

Additionally, a delegation of constituted bodies, spearheaded by the Secretary General of the province, Mendien known as Moussa Soma, joined the Muslim community in their celebrations, highlighting the unity and shared aspirations of the community.
