Mouhoun: Muslim worshippers in the commune of Safan©, Mouhoun Province, celebrated Eid al-Adha or Tabaski on Friday, June 6, 2025. Awareness messages and prayers were offered for peace and social cohesion. During the Tabaski festival, the faithful implored Almighty Allah for a rapid and lasting return of peace to Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Safan©, Ali Traor©, accompanied by his closest collaborators, joined the Muslim faithful for prayer at the great mosque of Safan©. A moment of fervor and contemplation, the celebration of Eid al-Adha brought together many worshippers and traditional and religious authorities who all prayed for peace, security, and a good rainy season.
Blessings were given to the political and administrative authorities of the country. "May God bestow his blessing on the leaders of our country so that they may be enlightened and succeed in the actions undertaken to get our country out of the difficult situation it is currently going through," said the imam who preached on behalf of the Grand Imam El Hadj Cheick Hamada Sako. He further urged the Muslim faithful to make this day a day of prayer and sharing with the most deprived.
The municipal authority encouraged the population to intensify their prayers and to collaborate closely with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), in order to support the efforts undertaken on the ground. Mr. Traor© expressed his gratitude to the Muslim community of Safan© for their prayers and for raising awareness among the population about the values of peace and cohesion for a thriving community.
The PDS reaffirmed its availability and commitment to serve the population with dedication, in accordance with the guidelines of the highest authorities of the country. After the prayer and blessings, the Imam proceeded to immolate the sheep, which is the act of sacrifice to the Prophet Abraham according to the holy scriptures. He invited the faithful who can to perform the same rite of immolation at home and make it a moment of sharing and rejoicing.
