Koudougou: At Norbert Zongo University (UNZ) in Koudougou, this Monday, the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Professor Adjima Thiombiano, presided over the ceremony for the raising of the national flag, with an exhortation to address academic delays.
According to Burkina Information Agency, UNZ President, Professor Awa Eugenie Maiga, thanked the minister for his presence, while emphasizing that this monthly ceremony reinforces respect for national values and the commitment of each individual.
The minister expressed his satisfaction with the mobilization, but deplored the obstacles to the catch-up targets. He called on everyone involved, from the administration to teachers, to fully assume their responsibilities for the future of students.
To ensure the continuity of classes, teachers on assignment will now have to complete an absence form, and the minister insisted on strict compliance with this measure.
In a shock move, Professor Thiombiano announced the upcoming establishment of a toll-free number to report misconduct by teachers and the administration, establishing a zero-tolerance policy.
Finally, he encouraged students to demonstrate discipline, respect for their teachers and to be exemplary for the smooth running of universities.
