Ouagadougou: The official launch of the Public Conference on Patriotic Commitment, Citizenship, Culture, Peace, and Social Cohesion was held at the SIAO Rising Sun Pavilion, with the aim of promoting civic-mindedness and patriotism as key drivers of peace and social cohesion. This initiative, organized by the Presidential Initiative for Community Development in collaboration with the National Office of Major Projects of Burkina Faso (BN-GPB), seeks to enhance the ability of communities to foster these values throughout the country.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was patronized by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, who was represented by his Director of Cabinet, Captain C©leste Anderson Medah. In his address, Captain Traor© emphasized the importance of education in instilling values of patriotism, civic-mindedness, and peace. He highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by Burkina Faso, including the fight against terrorism and imperialism, and praised the efforts of the conference organizers in aligning with the government's vision of modern citizenship based on social values such as patriotism, integrity, and solidarity.

Captain Traor© further stressed the need to address several challenges to restore peace and build a resilient nation, urging the participants to prepare Burkinabe youth to embrace and internalize these cardinal values in their daily lives. The conference in Ouagadougou covered three main themes: civics and citizenship, patriotism and citizen participation, and a culture of peace and social cohesion.

The series of conferences will continue across other regions until September, culminating in a closing ceremony in Bobo Dioulasso.
