Koudougou: As part of the labor-intensive works (THIMO), undertaken several weeks ago in Koudougou, the city's municipal police went on Thursday to lend a hand to the operation, AIB noted.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the city of Koudougou has launched a major gutter cleaning and clearing operation to clean up rainwater drainage routes and improve residents' living conditions. The patrol officers recruited as part of this program are hard at work at several sites in the municipality.
A government vision welcomed by all, and as the president of the special municipal delegation of Koudougou, Am©d©e Par©, recalled, "public health is everyone's work and it requires everyone's commitment."
This Thursday morning, the Koudougou municipal police, led by its director, Patrice Bonkoungou, joined the patrol officers on the ground. Armed with picks, shovels, and rakes, the officers did not hesitate to descend into the gutters to support the patrol officers for more than two hours.
According to the director, this action is doubly symbolic. "This gesture is intended both as a call for civic engagement from all, but also as a firm warning to unscrupulous residents. We all see how difficult it is to clear these gutters. There is no way we're going to tolerate some people, through negligence or irresponsibility, dumping waste there again."
Touched by this involvement, those responsible for the THIMO operation welcomed the initiative and expressed their hope that other organizations would follow this collective dynamic, to make Koudougou a clean city where life is good.
