Boulkiemd©: The 2008-2010 Water and Forestry Class Celebrates 15 Years of Service

Boulkiemd©: The 2008-2010 class of the Water and Forestry Service celebrated its 15th anniversary of service to the nation this Sunday. To mark the occasion, the members of the class, some sixty in number, gathered at the regional office of Water and Forestry in Nando (formerly Centre-Ouest) to commemorate their career and discuss their professional experiences.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Commander Jean Bosco Zongo, class delegate and current regional director of Water and Forests of Nakamb© (formerly Centre-Est), stated that this anniversary is an opportunity to "take a break" to meet up, give advice and strengthen cohesion.

The day began with a symbolic reforestation activity during which more than a hundred seedlings were planted, an initiative that is part of the national effort to "regreen Faso," said the class representative. "As promoters of Water and Forests, this plantation was obligatory for us," he added.

After the reforestation, the agents met for a conference-debate, an opportunity to take stock of the difficulties encountered by some in their department and to find solutions together.

Commander Zongo also took advantage of this meeting to pay tribute to his peers. He praised the commitment of those currently deployed on the ground to "reclaim the territory," wishing them a pleasant stay while hoping that "the country will finally overcome this terrorist hydra that has lasted far too long."

A thought was also expressed in memory of the six members of the class who died in service. Commander Zongo added that discussions are underway to support their families.

Finally, Commander Jean Bosco Zongo thanked the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Communication for their support in organizing this reunion, which was so important to them.
