Liptako: Governor Hands Over 6 Tractors and 50 Motor Pumps to Boost Agricultural Production

Liptako: The governor of the Liptako region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, handed over a large batch of agricultural equipment to the regional director of agriculture, animal resources, and fisheries of Liptako, Abidias Ye, as part of the support for the government's agro-forestry-pastoral policy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the award ceremony took place within the premises of the regional directorate of agriculture, in the presence of the administrative, customary, and religious authorities of the region. The donation consists of six tractors, fifty school motor pumps, and ten multifunctional gins, intended to strengthen the production capacities of producers in the region.

In his speech, Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo recalled that this support materializes the desire of the Liptako regional special delegation to support the government in boosting agriculture in a context marked by security and climatic challenges. "This equipment aims to intensify agricultural production and encourage off-season crops," he said, urging producers to adopt these tools to increase yields and improve food security.

For the Regional Director of Agriculture, Animal Resources, and Fisheries, Abidias Ye, this equipment comes at the right time to support farmers' initiatives. "It will help improve the resilience of producers and will be deployed in the four provinces of the Sahel region," he said, while thanking the regional special delegation for this support.

Producers present at the ceremony welcomed this gesture, believing that it meets a real need in terms of mechanization and irrigation. According to them, access to this type of equipment will not only facilitate fieldwork, but will also open up prospects for agricultural diversification, particularly during dry periods.

The delivery of this batch of agricultural equipment illustrates the regional special delegation's commitment to promoting modern and resilient agriculture. In the Sahel region, where populations face multiple challenges, this gesture represents hope for strengthening food security and improving the living conditions of producers.
