Sandbondtenga Traffic Incivility Crackdown: 67 Offenders Sentenced to Community Service in Kaya

Kaya: A lighting control operation carried out during the night of August 27 to 28, 2025, by the Kaya central police station resulted in the impounding of 67 vehicles for non-compliance with road safety regulations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Kaya City Central Police Station conducted a street lighting inspection operation during this period, uncovering numerous violations of road safety standards and non-compliance with vehicle lighting regulations. A total of 60 motorcycles and seven tricycles were impounded for various offenses. In line with current regulations, the offenders were subjected to community service on August 28, 2025.

The 67 offenders were divided into two groups and tasked with cleaning the grounds of the courthouse and the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) in sector 4 of the commune of Kaya. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the police to raise awareness among the population about the importance of adhering to road safety rules and contributing to the fight against incivility.

Larba Salambanga, the regional director of the national police of Koulse, emphasized that this operation aligns with a series of actions undertaken by the police. The police commissioner reiterated that such operations will continue to ensure citizen safety and promote a living environment that respects standards. He urged the public to remain vigilant and comply with the highway code to avoid further sanctions.
