Provincial Authorities Engage with IDPs in Schools to Ensure Smooth Start to Academic Year


Koulpelogo: The High Commissioner of Koulpelogo Province, Saidou Ouedraogo, led a delegation to several schools in Ouargaye on Wednesday to mark the start of the school year. The objective was to assess the effectiveness of the resumption of classes and to interact with the internally displaced persons (IDPs) living there.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation visited various educational institutions including the basic education district, the central primary school “C”, the provincial directorate of post-primary and secondary education, the CEG of Ouargaye “A”, the departmental high school, and the central primary school “C”. The visits aimed to engage in dialogue with the IDPs to free up some classrooms, encourage teachers, and record the difficulties encountered.



High Commissioner Saidou Ouedraogo emphasized the importance of creating a favorable framework for the smooth running of the school year, despite existing security and humanitarian challenges. The discussions were held in a friendly atmosphere, with participants expressing their commitment to contribute to the success of the new academic year in the province.
