Lamzoussi de Toudou Celebrates Inauguration of New School in Toece

Ouagadougou: The Lamzoussi neighborhood of the village of Toudou in the commune of Toece now has its own school. The infrastructure was inaugurated on Friday, October 3, 2025, in the presence of municipal authorities and a jubilant population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Lamzoussi neighborhood experienced a festive atmosphere as the community celebrated the inauguration of a new school. The ceremony, chaired by the Prefect and President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Toece, Harouna Nana, included the official handing over of the keys to the head of the basic education district of Toece, Inspector Ousmane Congo.

This new infrastructure marks the end of a challenging period for the children of Lamzoussi, who previously had to travel over five kilometers to attend the only school in the village. The school was made possible through funding from the Ministry of Basic Education and the Promotion of National Languages’ 2024 budget.

The community expressed their pride and joy with scenes of jubilation, as the new school significantly enhances the educational opportunities available in the village of Toudou. The Prefect emphasized the importance of this development in achieving quality education for the children of the commune and expressed gratitude to national authorities and the community for their support.

The initiative was initially supported by a local citizen who donated a building to facilitate classes during the 2024-2025 school year, while the construction of the new school was underway.
