Nazinon Region Rallies for Confederation of Sahel States


Nazinon: Bassolma Bazie, President of the National Commission of the Confederation of Sahel States (CN-CES), led a public conference on October 30, 2025, in the conference room of the Nazinon Regional Council. The event was dedicated to establishing the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) and aimed to gather key stakeholders from the Nazinon region around the ideals of sovereignty and solidarity promoted by the AES.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor of the Nazinon region, Yvette Nacoulma, opened the meeting by welcoming the CN-CES initiative. She reaffirmed the commitment of the people of her region to the Confederation of Sahel States (CES). Nacoulma emphasized that the people of Nazinon have shown total commitment to the Alliance and have worked towards a stable, secure, and prosperous Sahel.



In his address, Bazie provided a general history of Africa and highlighted issues related to the sovereignty of the ESA member states. He urged for a change in mindsets and a collective commitment to the ideals of the Confederation. During the discussions, which lasted over four hours, Bazie and his team presented the organization, its eight missions, and the three main pillars of the AES: diplomacy, defense, and development. They also shared achievements and addressed the concerns of local stakeholders with satisfactory responses.



According to Mr. Bazie, the meeting is part of a national tour aiming to bring the institution closer to citizens and promote a better understanding of the confederal project supported by the heads of state of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
