Gnagna Donors Unite to Support Defense Forces with Essential Donations


Gnagna: Several sons and daughters of Gnagna province demonstrated their profound solidarity with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) on Saturday morning in Bogande. Through donations of food, fuel, and financial support, they intend to contribute to the collective effort for peace and to the province’s resilience in the face of security challenges.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony took place in the presence of the provincial secretary general, the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of the urban commune of Bogande, representatives of the fighting forces and the beneficiary populations.



Among the donors is Mr. Mano Yemboado, alias “Governor of Diaka”, a trader from the commune of Thion, who offered 40 bags of 25 kg rice and 3 cans of oil for the benefit of BIR 19, as well as 20 bags of rice and 2 cans of oil intended for the widows of the VDP who fell in combat. Already known for his social commitment, the donor had also supported the day of academic excellence by donating 40 bags of rice to primary school students.



Presenting the donation on behalf of the benefactor, his representative praised the courage and determination of the fighting forces, particularly for securing the Pouytenga-Bogande road, which now facilitates the supply of food to the population. He also invited “all those who can” to follow suit and support the FDS and the VDP in the liberation of the country.



For their part, the artisanal gold miners of the commune of Thion handed over 100 bags of rice of 25 kg, 20 cans of oil of 20 litres and an envelope of 500,000 CFA francs to the benefit of the VDP. The CEO of Rada Petrolier, Kayaba Zore, for his part, contributed 500 liters of fuel, distributed between the BIR 19 (200 L), the national police, the VDP and the Bogande town hall (100 L each).



The people of the village of Nindangou offered two walkie-talkies and an envelope containing 15,000 CFA francs to their VDP, while those of Kierghui gave an envelope containing 100,000 CFA francs in support of the local forces.



Speaking at the event, the provincial secretary general praised “the remarkable mobilization of the sons and daughters of Gnagna alongside the fighting forces.” He stated, “When you have men and you encourage them, it motivates them.” He expressed his hope that these civic initiatives would multiply and inspire other people of goodwill.



Commander Lynx of BIR 19, on behalf of the FDS and VDP, expressed his gratitude for these highly patriotic gestures. He urged the population to strengthen collaboration and the sharing of useful information, stating that “there is a glimmer of hope in the reconquest of the provincial territory.”



Finally, the prefect and president of the special delegation of Bogande expressed his thanks to the donors, stressing that this support “galvanizes the fighting forces in their daily struggle for the security and stability of the province.” These multiple displays of solidarity reflect the growing cohesion between civilians and fighting forces in Gnagna, united by the conviction that peace and collective resilience remain a common struggle.
