Provincial Authorities Pay Courtesy Visit to His Majesty Emile Pare, Chief of Canton of Toma


Nayala: Provincial authorities pay a courtesy visit to His Majesty Emile Pare, canton chief. The High Commissioner of the province of Nayala, Mr. Honore Frederic Pare, along with prefects, presidents of special delegations, and heads of provincial services, visited His Majesty Emile Pare, chief of the canton of Toma, on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation was warmly received in the royal hall of the “Sanabolo,” known as the golden house in the San language. His Majesty Emile Pare, a former bank executive and advocate for social cohesion, expressed his appreciation for the visit, highlighting it as a symbol of mutual respect and collaboration between the administration and traditional leadership.



During the event, the High Commissioner provided an overview of the government actions in Nayala province, applauding the effective distribution of fertilizer to farmers, facilitated by the Ministry of Agriculture, and the favorable rainy season.



In healthcare, Dr. Arouna Sissao, chief medical officer of the Toma district, noted the construction of several infrastructures with government and partner support. Notable among them is the operational Kisson primary healthcare center (CSPS) and the anticipated opening of five new centers in the villages of the commune. Additionally, the Toma urban primary healthcare center is being upgraded to a Medical Center with a Surgical Unit (CMA).



Regarding education, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education reported a pass rate exceeding 90% in the CEP exam and announced an awards ceremony on October 29, 2025, at the Toma Sud School, under the patronage of the canton chief. He acknowledged the dedication of security forces and volunteers in resuming school activities despite some closures west of Ye and Gassan.



Similarly, Idrissa Rouko, Provincial Director of Post-Primary and Secondary Education, commended the defense and security forces for facilitating the reopening of high schools and colleges.



Imam Lassina Pare, brother of the canton chief, concluded the gathering with blessings for Nayala’s peace and prosperity, quoting a Quranic verse on faith and perseverance.



His Majesty Emile Pare expressed pride in the efforts to reclaim the territory and invited the authorities to the “Wudizon” community meal after the solemn mass on Sunday, October 26. The canton chief had previously engaged with customary authorities and district chiefs of Toma to foster dialogue and social cohesion.
