Boulkiemde: The Bourou Friendship Tournament Celebrates Fraternity and Fair Play

Boulkiemde: The 7th edition of the Bourou friendship tournament reached its climax on Saturday with the victory of the Nabadogo team against that of Tanghin Wobdo. The football pitch in Bourou, in the commune of Sabou, vibrated this Saturday to the rhythm of the final of the friendship tournament. Placed under the banner of solidarity and living together, this competition brought together youth and authorities around sporting and civic values.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, which pitted the teams of Nabadogo and Tanghin Wobdo against each other, lived up to all its promises in terms of atmosphere, sportsmanship, and popular unity. After a hard-fought and evenly matched contest, the two teams were separated by a penalty shootout. Nabadogo's team ultimately prevailed 8-7, sparking jubilation among their supporters.

'We were hoping to score during the 90 minutes, but the penalty shootout was a chance for us. We are happy with this victory,' said the Nabadogo captain. The tournament promoter, Yacouba Zio, a civil engineering consultant, highlighted the social significance of the initiative: "The main objective of this competition is to encourage young people to maintain unity, brotherhood and social cohesion," he stated.

Present at the ceremony, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Sabou, Abdoul Aziz Koara, praised the youth for their spirit of fair play and unity. "I congratulate the promoter of the friendship tournament for this wonderful initiative and the population for their commitment to promoting sport and social cohesion," he declared.

The winning team from Nabadogo took home 150,000 CFA francs, a ball, a set of jerseys, and the trophy. Their opponent, Tanghin Wobdo, received 125,000 CFA francs, a ball, and a set of jerseys.
