Diebougou: High Commissioner Amidou Konate chaired the first session of the year for the Bougouriba provincial consultation framework on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Diebougou. Provincial stakeholders discussed three presentations focusing on the universal health insurance scheme and the promotion of national solidarity.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the first communication was presented by the regional director of Labor and Social Protection, Djoro Djakaridja Soulama. He focused on the modalities of the Universal Health Insurance Scheme (RAMU), highlighting the government's aim to extend social security benefits to all segments of the population. Soulama explained that all natural persons residing in Burkina Faso, as well as legal entities employing at least one salaried worker, are subject to RAMU. He detailed the procedures for affiliation and registration, noting that employers must declare to the National Universal Health Insurance Fund (CNAMU) for an affiliation number, while natural persons receive an individual social identification number.
The provincial director of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, Sie Pascal Poda, provided insights through two communications. The first centered on the outcomes of the 17th edition of the month of solidarity, conducted from November 4 to December 3, 2024, in Bougouriba, addressing challenges and future prospects. Poda reported that the province mobilized 1,334,740 CFA francs and over 1.5 tons of food, along with donations of clothing, school supplies, and cleaning products. This assistance supported 51 internally displaced households and 23 vulnerable host households, funded training for women, and provided school supplies for children.
However, Poda acknowledged difficulties, such as the late arrival of collection boxes and insufficient communication. To address these issues, new strategies were suggested, including mobilization committees and solidarity shops. His second announcement concerned the upcoming month of solidarity, "Deme Sira," scheduled for late 2025. Poda urged community involvement through educational talks, blood donations, and fundraising to ensure its success.
In conclusion, High Commissioner Amidou Konate praised the stakeholders' participation and the discussions' relevance. He emphasized the importance of the provincial consultation framework as a tool for dialogue and sustainable solutions for the population's well-being. The last CCP of Bougouriba was held in December 2023.
