Boulkiemde: The municipality of Bingo launched several activities on Friday as part of the belated celebration of International Youth Day. This initiative aims to promote youth engagement in civic and community actions. Activities alternated between clean-up operations and sporting events.
According to Burkina Information Agency, from the early hours of the morning, a large-scale clean-up operation was carried out in several public spaces throughout the municipality. Participants cleaned the grounds of the town hall, the prefecture, the medical center, and the Bingo market. This action helped to improve the cleanliness of the premises while strengthening social cohesion and a sense of civic responsibility.
The president of the special delegation, the secretary general, and the canton chief of the Bingo commune took part in the activity alongside the young people and students, whose mobilization was decisive. In the afternoon, a popular cross-country race followed by an aerobics session drew a large crowd. From 4 p.m. onwards, runners took to the streets of the town to promote sports among young people.
The Kokologho Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade provided security for the activities, while the physical education teacher from the Bingo departmental high school encouraged participants to adopt an active lifestyle. These sporting events also helped strengthen team spirit and camaraderie.
The first day of the celebration of International Youth Day in Bingo mobilized various actors around civic and structuring actions, highlighting the essential role of youth in the sanitation and development of the municipality. The celebratory activities continue this Saturday, November 15, 2025, with a public conference. Organizers hope these initiatives will inspire other similar actions promoting a healthier living environment and sustainable development.
