Gnagna: On a courtesy visit to the Gnagna province, Maxime Zougmore, nicknamed "the Man from IB," encouraged the inhabitants to strengthen their solidarity to face the terrorists. The country is simultaneously waging a struggle "against imperialism and against terrorism," which only the sacred union of the sons and daughters of Burkina Faso will make it possible to defeat the terrorist groups, said the man from IB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Zougmore stressed the need for close collaboration between the population and the fighting forces. "A terrorist, even if it's your father, your brother, must be denounced. We must put an end to them," he insisted. Mr. Zougmore was speaking on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Bogande at a meeting organized to welcome him.
The man from IB also regretted some local misunderstandings, inviting the province to draw inspiration from areas where social cohesion has allowed significant security advances. On the sidelines of the meeting, 'IB's Man' told the press that he had come to demonstrate that 'Gnagna is not unlivable,' contrary to rumors, and that this is made possible 'thanks to the work of the Fighting Forces.' He thanked 'God, Comrade President Ibrahim Traore, and the army' for their efforts.
He reaffirmed the civic responsibility of every Burkinabe before declaring, 'One does not betray one's nation. Whoever dares to do so will perish. Let us be true Burkinabe. Let us denounce the terrorists and their accomplices.' According to him, the complete restoration of security remains the primary condition for the province's development.
Among those present were the High Commissioner of Gnagna, Jean-Baptiste Beogo, representatives of various institutions, and His Majesty Yempaabou, Chief of the Bogande canton. The event, held to express gratitude to the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, also provided an opportunity to voice the province's main concerns.
The municipal president of the citizen watch, Tinguier Lankoande, praised the "unwavering support" of His Majesty Yempaabou, chief of the canton of Bogande, and the administrative authorities in their citizen initiatives, before welcoming their guest.
For his part, the coordination focal point, Guitanga Timothee, thanked 'The Man from IB' for having 'braved the insecurity and the poor condition of the road,' seeing it as a strong gesture towards the people and the vision of the Head of State. He conveyed several grievances to him, including the paving of National Route 18, the construction of hospitals and health centers, the operationalization of the Manni Medical Center, the establishment of a Rapid Intervention Battalion in Liptougou, the creation of military detachments in Thion and Coalla, the construction of dams and agricultural development projects, the recruitment of new Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and the construction of drainage ditches to protect the roads.
