Kenedougou: A mission from the National Universal Health Insurance Fund (CNAMU), led by the technical advisor to the Director General, Jean Baptiste Yameogo, met with health workers in Orodara on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to discuss the extension of social protection. The meeting allowed the delegation to present the objectives and modalities of the health insurance scheme.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the discussions covered several key aspects such as registration, affiliation, and the operation of the scheme. 'We came to Orodara to inform the population about the health insurance scheme, explain its implications and proceed with their registration so that they can benefit from the services,' said the technical advisor, Jean Baptiste Yameogo.

Participants raised concerns regarding healthcare services, contributions, population support, and the management of the scheme in health facilities. Mr. Yameogo stated that the mission provided satisfactory answers to the various concerns raised.

For his part, the director of Registration at CNAMU, Isso Bazie, specified that more than 270,000 people have already been registered nationally since the fund became operational in September 2025. In the Kenedougou province, 1,658 people, including 612 public employees, have been registered to date. He added that the registration of public officials is ongoing.
