Zondoma Sports and Culture Season Kicks Off with 56 Schools Competing

Zondoma: The Gourcy 2 Basic Education District (CEB) officially launched its sports and cultural season at the Kouksin school. A total of 56 schools are competing for titles in various disciplines.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event is guided by the vision of "Making sport and culture allies to promote community resilience," an initiative aimed at fostering community strength through sports and cultural activities for the 2025-2026 school year.

The official launch was presided over by the head of the district, Patoim Sankara, who addressed the participants, acknowledging the potential challenges and encouraging them to view these as opportunities for learning and growth. "We know that such an organization will undoubtedly encounter difficulties. I therefore invite you to transform them into lessons learned to achieve our objectives," he stated.

The competitions will feature a diverse array of disciplines, including football, cycling, drawing, fashion design, and dance, with a total of 56 schools registered to compete. The launch ceremony featured a gala football match between last season's finalists, Bisnaba and Kouksin. Kouksin emerged victorious, avenging their previous loss to Bisnaba with a score of one to zero.

The football matches are scheduled to officially begin on November 26, 2025. Organizers have indicated that the winners of the Sports and Culture Organization (OSCEP) in the Gourcy 2 CEB will be announced in April 2026.
