Bittou: The Bittou municipal police organized a cleanup day on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Bittou Urban Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS). This was followed by the distribution of hygiene supplies and food to the center's staff and to the widows of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). These donations mark the 30th anniversary of the municipal police in Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, health workers received hygiene and protective equipment, Betadine, compresses, medicines, and bags of rice. The widows of the VDP received bags of rice. The entire donation is valued at 750,000 FCFA.
The handover ceremony, presided over by Mohamed Lamine Diabete, President of the Special Delegation of the Bittou Commune (PDS), was also attended by representatives of various institutions, the Defense and Security Forces, as well as representatives of the beneficiaries and associations.
For Bittou municipal police assistant Jean Barthelemy Bere, this donation is the modest contribution of the Bittou municipal police on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the municipal police in Burkina Faso. For him, the objective is also to encourage the staff of the CSPS and also to comfort the widows of the VDP. Mr. Bere also thanked the authorities, the constituted bodies, and the population for the success of the event.
"This equipment will allow us to effectively take care of the patients who visit our service," said BouGahiri Haiman, the head of the Bittou urban health and social promotion center. He thanked the municipal police for the initiative.
The PDS commended the municipal police and the entire population for this act of solidarity in support of healthcare workers and the widows of the VDP.
