Ghislain Le Gardel Crowned AMUSUO d’or 2025 at Southwest Music Awards

Gaoua: The fourth edition of the Southwest Music Awards (AMUSUO) concluded at the Adarka venue in Gaoua, where twenty-seven works competed across nine categories, highlighting the region's artists. Ghislain Le Gardel emerged as the best artist of Dj´r´ at the event.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the evening featured the crowning of Ghislain Le Gardel, who expressed that the challenges faced during the recording of his works fueled his inspiration. He shared his experiences, stating, "We live in a society where you are loved only if you have money. If you have nothing, you are unknown. I knocked on doors and saw the reality. That is what inspired me. Lacking the means to record my music, I decided to save up to open my own studio," while also thanking the Almighty for his recognition.

Other notable winners included Olivier Da, who received the trophy for best newcomer, and Saw Zak, who was recognized as the most played artist in nightclubs. Kanito Le Valideur took home awards for best modern song inspired by tradition and best new artist, dedicating his achievements "to all the people who see culture as a belt to achieve their goals."

The event was attended by the technical advisor to the governor of Dj´r´, Yacouba Lengani, who praised the organizing committee, led by the Sirakadjan association, for their dedication over the past four years in promoting local musical talent. "The organization's gamble has paid off. We encourage the promoters for continuity. We thank the partners who support this valuable initiative," he remarked.

Mamadou Traore, the president of Sirakadjan, expressed his contentment with the event's success. He stated, "Everything went smoothly and the results met the public's expectations. We ask our ministry to provide artists with training and performance platforms to improve their skills."

The event also marked a change in its designation, with the Southwest Music Awards now being referred to as the Dj´r´ Music Awards (AMUD) in alignment with the new regional toponyms.
