Civil Society Organizations Rally Behind Burkina Faso’s Presidential Initiative

Ouagadougou: Several civil society organizations contributed to the Faso Mªbo presidential initiative in Fada N'Gourma on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in response to the call from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Gourma Gold Miners Association donated a significant amount of equipment, including 80 tons of cement, 80 tons of granite, 60 packs of drinking water, and 50,000 CFA francs, totaling an estimated value of 9,200,000 CFA francs. The Goulmou Regional Civil Society Organization, representing the Sirba, Tapoa, and Goulmou regions, contributed 82 bags of cement, 20 packs of water, and 70,000 CFA francs. Additionally, the Djam Iyatou Ataawoun Association provided 5 tons of cement, 10 shovels, and 100,000 CFA francs. The Union of Drivers of the Eastern Region also supported the initiative with 2 tons of cement, 10 shovels, 10 trowels, 10 vests, and 10 packs of water.

El Hadji Adjima Sorga, spokesperson for the Gourma Gold Miners, emphasized that their organization could not remain on the sidelines of the national development policy promoted by the State. He called on all young people, men, and women to actively participate in building the nation. Issaaka Herv© Combary, representing the Goulmou Regional Civil Society Organization, highlighted that each of the 82 bags of cement donated symbolizes a community organization in the Eastern region, reflecting the collective commitment to the presidential initiative.

Aboubakar Ou©draogo, Secretary General of the Djam Iyatou Ataawoun Association, stressed the organization's intention to contribute to the beautification of Fada N'Gourma. He urged all community organizations to make their mark on history by participating in the effort to build Burkina Faso. Kampadilemba J©r´me Idani, President of the Special Delegation of the Fada N'Gourma municipality, commended the patriotic commitment and sense of responsibility shown by these civil society organizations. He reiterated his call to all residents of his administrative district to embrace the presidential initiative, emphasizing that collective efforts are necessary for the city's development.

Through these contributions, civil society organizations in the Eastern region reaffirm their support for the Faso Mªbo initiative and their commitment to supporting Burkina Faso's development efforts.
