Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe singer and infantryman, Mister Gome, whose civil status is Marcel Millogo, launched his new single and video entitled "Sodaga" in Fada N'Gourma, in the presence of many fans, music lovers and his comrades in arms.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after the success of his first single "On ne vit que de §a", widely appreciated by Burkinabe music lovers, Mister Gome returns with a work with a strong patriotic and security focus. Through "Sodaga", the artist pays a vibrant tribute to his fellow fighters engaged day and night in the reconquest and securing of the national territory.
Mister Gome stated that this single aims above all to galvanize and boost the morale of soldiers deployed in theaters of operation. 'We only have one homeland. Through this song, I want to encourage my comrades to fight harder on the front lines. This is my way of contributing to the quest for peace,' he said.
In "Sodaga," sung in Dioula, Moore, and French, the artist first addresses the fundamental mission of the soldier, which is to protect the population and their property. He then highlights the determination, courage, and mental strength of the soldiers deployed in the field, before making an appeal to the civilian population.
To that end, Mr. Gome called on the people of Burkina Faso to unite and be resilient in the face of terrorism. 'Everyone has a role to play. Muslims, Christians or animists, everyone can contribute, especially through prayer, to overcome this common evil,' he argued.
Mister Gome also justified the choice of Fada N'Gourma for the official launch of his single and video clip as being due to the fact that the city of Yendabili is resilient, livable and standing strong despite the security context. Furthermore, Marcel Millogo explained the origin of his stage name Mister Gome, derived from his surname Millogo, which means "to erase". "My wish is that terrorism be permanently eradicated from Burkina Faso," he confided.
Addressing his fans, Mister Gome invited them to stay tuned, announcing new musical projects to come, always in service of peace, social cohesion and the morale of the fighting forces.
