Nando: In a move towards a more inclusive and accessible approach, the governor of the Nando region met on Saturday at the Koudougou town hall with key stakeholders from the Boulkiemde area. The objective was to gather local concerns and mobilize support for the national vision of sovereignty.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this meeting was moderated by the province's high commissioner and marks Governor Adama Jean Yves Bere's desire to establish an unfiltered dialogue with the people. From the outset, the governor acknowledged the sacrifice of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), pillars of national resilience. He emphasized that this tour is part of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore's vision, which aims to build solutions from the local level to meet future challenges.
The governor also congratulated citizens for their significant contributions to the Faso Mªbo initiatives, the Patriotic Support Fund, and Operation Dªm¨ Sira. Representatives of key stakeholders used this platform to present the province's urgent issues. In education, they highlighted the need to rehabilitate overcrowded school infrastructure in Koudougou. For infrastructure, they stressed the importance of opening up the region by paving the Yako-Koudougou and Sabou-Leo roads, as well as maintaining the rural road network. In terms of the economy, the development of a strategic industrial zone linked to the Ouagadougou-Bobo highway project was strongly recommended. In the social sphere, the need to strengthen assistance to vulnerable people was also emphasized.
In response, Governor Bere, accompanied by his regional directors, provided technical insights while stressing a key message: autonomy. He urged local stakeholders to prioritize consultation to resolve problems at their level before seeking help from the national level. As proof of this community commitment, the meeting concluded with a spontaneous fundraising effort, contributing to the Dªm¨ Sira solidarity campaign.
