Bittou: The PDS Launches Civic and Patriotic Training for Middle Classes

Bittou: The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Bittou, Mohamed Lamine Diabate, proceeded on Thursday at the municipal stadium of Bittou to the official launch of the activities of the civic and patriotic supervision of the middle classes, first wave. The ceremony was held in the presence of government officials, defense and security forces, representatives of traditional and religious authorities, associations, and numerous students from secondary schools in the municipality.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Diabate stated that this program aims to instill in young students the values of the ongoing revolution, particularly the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, mutual respect, and living together. "The objective is to train responsible, engaged citizens who are aware of their role in building the nation," he stated.

Addressing nearly 1,000 students, the President of the Democratic and Socialist Party (PDS) declared: "This revolution is counting on you. Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Burkina Faso, is counting on you. That is why he initiated this civic and patriotic training program for you."

He urged the students to demonstrate diligence, discipline, and respect during the six weeks of the program, while also encouraging them to cultivate the values of solidarity and social cohesion.

Mr. Diabate also thanked the highest authorities in the country for this initiative, the police commissioner of Bittou for the mobilization, and all the participants for their active attendance. He offered wishes of peace and encouragement to the defense and security forces as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Speaking next, Police Captain Somgoum-Malgre Bazile Ouedraogo, representing the Bittou police station, commended the swift mobilization and the support of the various stakeholders for the success of the initiative.

In total, students from four high schools and middle schools are participating in this first phase of civic and patriotic education in the municipality of Bittou. The representative of the traditional chiefs praised the authorities' initiative while urging the students to be disciplined and committed.
