‘Dem¨ Sira’ Campaign in Noumbiel: A Do-Over Operation

Bati: As part of the national campaign "Dem¨ Sira", a blood donation operation was organized on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Bati, in two high schools, with the objective of collecting 150 bags of blood in order to strengthen stocks and meet the needs of patients requiring a blood transfusion. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the blood drive, conducted in collaboration with the Gaoua Regional Blood Transfusion Center (CRTS), mobilized government officials, civilians, and students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the national campaign "Dem¨ Sira," or the path of solidarity, aims to mobilize all the country's vital forces around mutual aid and support for vulnerable people. It seeks to revive indigenous values of sharing, unity, and solidarity. The Regional Blood Transfusion Centre, through the voice of the chief medical officer of the Bati health district, Roland Konkobo, welcomed the initiative and expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the organizers, to all the donors, as well as to the teaching staff of the high schools for their commitment and their high sense of solidarity.

'Whatever people say, we are the first beneficiaries. The blood that will be taken will first serve the population of Bati before benefiting the region,' he stressed. For his part, the Provincial Director of Family and Solidarity for Noumbiel, Abdoulaye Nacanabo, expressed his satisfaction with this initiative. "This outpouring of solidarity towards people in need is a civic act that can save lives, especially in the current security context," he stated.
