Gaongo/sport and culture: The Gaongo Basic Education District officially launched its sports and cultural activities at the primary school on January 21, 2026, in Gaongo. The launch took place in the presence of the local population, administrative and traditional authorities, and guests.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the activities of the Primary School Sports and Culture Organization (OSCEP) in the Gaongo Basic Education District (CEB) in the Bazega province began on January 21st. The 2026 edition of the Gaongo CEB's OSCEP was launched under the theme: "Comprehensive Education in the Era of Reforms: Sport, Culture, and Citizenship for a High-Performing School."

The official start of the sports and cultural activities was given by Mr. Issouf Kabre, Second Vice-President of the Gaongo Municipal Special Delegation. The launch was held under the patronage of Mr. Adama Koanda, Ambassador and Head of School Development for Dynamo Moscow FC (Russia) in Africa, and coordinated by Mr. Youssouf Bassia, Head of the CEB.

Mr. Koanda congratulated the organizers and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the CEB's sports and cultural activities. For his part, the head of the CEB encouraged teachers and students from the various schools to promote fair play throughout the competitions.

To mark the launch ceremony in style, a gala football match pitted women from Zone A against those from Zone B, followed by another football match between young people and teachers from the Gaongo commune. In addition to these activities, board games and an aerobics session also filled the launch ceremony.
