Burkina Faso Minister of Security Achieves 95.30% Performance Contract Completion Rate

Ouagadougou: The Minister of Security in Burkina Faso, Mahamadou Sana, announced that his department has achieved a 95.30% completion rate on its performance contract as of December 31, 2025. This announcement followed a thorough evaluation conducted on February 2, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the evaluation assessed seven key actions, including enhancing the operational capacities of police and gendarmerie forces, intensifying efforts against organized crime through operations "Wibga" and "Ladeli," and improving access to administrative documents such as CNIB and AES cards. Additionally, the ministry focused on implementing reforms in good governance and fostering public participation in national security efforts.

The evaluation also highlighted improvements in road safety and the integration of information systems. These systems are designed to detect malicious individuals and suspicious objects, further bolstering security measures in the country. Following the assessment, Prime Minister issued directives to enhance security in Burkina Faso, emphasizing the continuation of current reforms and the fight against crime.

Minister Sana noted the significance of the recent government reshuffle, which placed the Water and Forestry Corps under the Ministry of Security. This change aims to strengthen forest security and improve the management of natural resources such as wildlife, forests, and fisheries in Burkina Faso.
