Gourma: Singer Marie Gayeri dedicated her fifth album, entitled "Yedimpo," this Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Fada N'Gourma, in the presence of many fans, cultural figures, and notables from the Goulmou region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the album launch ceremony, held this Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Fada N'Gourma, drew a crowd composed mainly of music lovers, young fans of the artist, and traditional and cultural figures who came to show their support for the artist who has established herself over the years as one of the leading voices of Gourmatchema music.
Comprising 10 tracks sung entirely in the Gourmatchema language, "Yedimpo" is a socially conscious album rooted in current social realities. Through skillfully modernized local sounds, Marie Gayeri addresses major themes such as integrity, solidarity, living together, and social cohesion: essential values in the current socio-security context of Burkina Faso.
According to the artist, this album is an invitation to collective reflection and resilience. "Through 'Yedimpo,' I want to emphasize the importance of remaining united, in solidarity, and true to our cultural values, despite the difficulties," she explained.
Among the album's standout tracks is the song "Traore," in which Marie Gayeri pays tribute to the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore. In this song, the artist applauds his fight to regain Burkina Faso's national sovereignty and, beyond that, for the emancipation of Africa. This track, which received a standing ovation from the audience, generated considerable enthusiasm during its live performance.
